HOUSE MANAGERS
HOW IT WORKS
01 / FAMILY CONSULTATION
We begin with a private consultation to understand your household, schedule, expectations, and the type of support your family needs.
02 / SEARCH & EVALUATION
Oak & Ivy conducts a targeted search and evaluates applicants through professional interviews, reference verification, background screening, and review of their experience. Not every applicant is accepted for representation. Only candidates who meet Oak & Ivy’s standards move forward in the placement process.
03 / INTRODUCTIONS & TRIAL
You will meet a carefully selected group of candidates, with guidance provided throughout the interview process. When appropriate, Oak & Ivy can also coordinate a paid trial day before a final decision is made.
04 / PLACEMENT
Once you select your preferred candidate, we guide the final stages of the placement and help establish clear expectations before the position begins.
A SEARCH SHAPED AROUND YOUR HOUSEHOLD
No two families need support in the same way.
Your search is built around the way your household actually functions, including its schedule, responsibilities, communication style, and long-term priorities. Rather than presenting a broad list of available candidates, Oak & Ivy focuses on professionals whose experience and approach align with the role your are creating.
Clear fees from the beginning.
PLACEMENT INVESTMENT
Fees are confirmed before your search begins, so you understand the full investment and payment schedule from the start.
01 / SEARCH INITIATION
A nonrefundable $500 search initiation fee is due when the family agreement is signed. This fee activates the search and is applied toward the final placement fee.
02 / PERMANENT PLACEMENT
Permanent placement fees range from 15% to 18% of the candidate’s projected first-year gross wages, based on the position’s scope, schedule and level of specialization. Minimum placement fees may apply and are confirmed before the search begins.
03 / REPLACEMENT SUPPORT
Permanent placements include one replacement search within the first 90 days, subject to the terms of the family agreement.
FAQ
What happens if the placement does not work out?
Permanent placements include one replacement search within the first 90 days, subject to the terms of the family agreement. Placement fees are nonrefundable, and replacement eligibility depends on the circumstances surrounding the placement’s conclusion.
How long does the placement process take?
The timeline varies according to the positions location, schedule, compensation, responsibilities, and level of specialization. Oak & Ivy focuses on presenting aligned candidates rather than rushing the search to meet a standard timeline.
Is Oak & Ivy the employer?
No. Oak & Ivy recruits, evaluates, and introduces household professionals through a placement-only model. The family becomes the selected candidates employer and is responsible for wages, payroll, taxes, benefits, and compliance with applicable household-employee requirements.
